Camp Testimony (When will we awake?)

Updated: Jul 17

Wake Up!!
Wake Up!!

I just got back from church camp and... it was LIFE CHANGING!

During the weeks leading up to camp, I was kind of surfing through life. I was struggling mentally thinking I was alone and no one saw me. What a COMPLETE LIE that was. LOL!!

At camp, the Lord showed me community, healed my heart of a lot things, and convicted me of the fact that I was waiting on the Lord to do a lot of things but in reality He was waiting on me to have the faith to take that first step. Too many times we put the God of the universe in a box which, when you think about it, is absolutely crazy!

So, this is your reminder of the God you serve. Put to death the lies you're believing about yourself, as well as the lies you're believing about the Lord. Put some action to that faith because faith without action is DEAD!!

The Lord woke me up at camp... but now He's trying to wake you up! He's calling. Can you hear? He says, "How long will you slumber when I'm right in your face awaiting your call?"

The Lord convicted me of the fact that I was still waiting to feel like it. We're waiting for the smoke and thunder but He's waiting for our yes!! He's waiting for that generation that would come and listen. Often, we're not listening -- were making excuses and procrastinating -- too many times, and still we say things like "Oh, when this happens I'll do that thing the Lord told me to do."

But, no! He says no to the generation of compromise and complacency. It's not about what makes us comfortable or what feels nice. It's like when you just woke up and you're still laying in the bed because you don't feel like waking up yet. But, WAKE UP. See the sun and day waiting for the works you are to do.

We don't worship God because we feel like it, but because it is what He deserves! Why did you turn your light off and roll over to go back to sleep when the day is not over yet? Get over your pride of wanting something or feeling entitled, and put action to your faith. Put your actions where your mouth has been. We say to the Lord "Take me, Lord, and use me" and yet we're still standing there refusing to move. We want things handed to us instead of listening and wanting the will of the Lord done. We say "use us Lord" but what we really mean is "Ooh, that looks fun! Can i do that? Can you give that to me?"

The harvest is full but the workers are few. The Lord is looking for His workers, not the talkers. He's looking for those who worship in Spirit and Truth, not those who only listen and sing along to a good song. He's looking for the obedient, not those who will run away like Jonah.

James 2:17 NIV

If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead

Proverbs 6:9-11

But you, lazybones, how long will you sleep?

    When will you wake up?

10 A little extra sleep, a little more slumber,

a little folding of the hands to rest—

11 then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit;

scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.

James 1:22

22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
